How to Clean containers ?

Container flushing is critical in most food and beverage applications. Rinsing with water can effectively remove most of the pollutants; However, water flushing creates a number of potential downstream problems and costs:

• Rinse water treatment before use

• Water treatment after rinsing

• Microbial growth in wet containers

• Excessive water use, with one bottling company running at 1,400 cans per minute and using 5.6 million gallons of water a year

Air flushing using ionized air eliminates all of these costs and problems while effectively cleaning the inside and/or outside of the container.

Air flushing can be done using compressed air or air driven by a blower. Compressed air flushing systems have a low initial cost but are five times more expensive to run than blower driven air, because compressed air flushing systems consume 80 percent more energy than blower driven air flushing systems. In addition, compressed air can increase water and oil pollution during cleaning.

Paxton's ionization bottle and can cleaner uses Paxton's patented custom designed air delivery device in combination with an ionization rod to create a flow of air and eliminate static electricity that causes contaminants to adhere to surfaces. Once static electricity is removed, dirt and dust will not stick to the surface and thus interfere with cleaning the surface.
